MEMORIAL PARK

Public BBQ

This waterfront spot along Port Albert''s harbour serves as a popular free overnight stop for caravans and self-contained RVs, with designated yellow bays for parking. The brand new toilet block represents a significant upgrade, consistently described as spotlessly clean and well-stocked, with a dump point available. The harbour views prove impressive, particularly from the adjacent jetty where seals occasionally swim right up to visitors. Early morning boat launches showcase the respectful atmosphere, with dozens of trailers coming and going smoothly from predawn onwards. The location offers convenient access to two fish and chip shops, an Italian restaurant across the road, and a general store within walking distance. Parkland and picnic tables provide space for relaxing while taking in the maritime scenery. One consideration: low tide combined with an easterly breeze can produce harbour odours. Despite this quirk, the combination of excellent facilities, harbour outlook, and genuine country town hospitality makes this an appealing stopover.
